hi and welcome to the Burlington County Library webinar today you were going to learn how you can sign up for a library card download materials to your tablet or phone and learn about curbside pickup the webinar today will help you to find your son reading books for books for pleasure first thing to do is to make sure you get onto this website you can use a Google search by typing in Burlington County library system or you can type in a browser be a l s l i b a n j u s once you click on the Burlington County Library System it will take to a page that looks a little bit like that first thing to do is decide if you need a library card or not if you do not need a library card then just bear with me while I talk about how to get one click on a flight for library card and it will pull you to a site that looks like that this is the account system you're going to click on your home Library which is the Cinnaminson Library type in your postal ZIP code 80-77 then hit continue after you hit continue it will bring you to your select City you will select our hometown of Cinnaminson and hit continue once you get to this website this will be a spot where you may need your parent or guardian's help you need to type in your name first and last as they Asterix and are mandatory the second thing you're going to do is you were going to decide the name on an identification card so you need a license or you need a state ID card to get your library card so you'll have your parents feel this part out and then their birthday you could use your birthday I believe so don't quote me on that your address information where you live and your four digit postal ZIP code that's usually found on any material that's that's mailed to your house such as a bill tseng bill or a cable bill that will all get you registered at the Cinnaminson Library there you will then need to enter an email address and an alternate email address one could be yours one could be your guardians or parents then phone numbers you can add up to 3 I'll be your cell phone number your landline your parents or Guardians email phone number and then how you would like to prefer getting your notices you could choose your email address you could choose a phone 1 2 or 3 or text messaging if you do one text messaging that's when the next line and then you must select the four digit PIN number of four digit PIN number easily be 111 it's a nice easy number you can remember it but there are problems to the four digit PIN number of 1111 if your library card gets lost and somebody find it they could take books out in your name and run up a lot of bills that you would be responsible for so 1111 is not a great number think of another thing maybe I should use the last four digits of my cell phone maybe I could use my 4-Digit house or better yet your birthday I know my birthday is November 3rd so I could use one 103 I think I can remember that I think I'll use that when you're done you hit submit and it will bring you to another page follow the instructions and you're all set I'm going to head back to the home page now that we have gotten the library card and I'm going to decide that I want to find out how to download with my new library card ebooks or audio books if I click on the e-book section it takes you to what they call the Burlington overdrive.com site now what going to do you only work on Kindle or your web browser if you want to read it on your Kindle on your iPhone or Android you need click the Libby app then you can follow exactly what I'm doing through the app do you login using your brand new barcode and pin number and you're ready to go same with Libby app so let's try searching some books I know in seventh grade one of the best books of the 7th graders read is called The Giver it's a quartet and there are four books type in an author's name or you could type in the title of the book when you get to the page and again this is also on the Libby app you can see that there is an ebook an audiobook other e-book which is a different version or you can borrow the movie the right now this is taken out the audiobook is taken out so you would place a hold on it so that you could get it out as well once you get out and get one of the books you have 7:14 or 21 days to borrow it after the 21 days the library system takes it back there's never a late charge so that's how audiobooks and ebooks were on the overdrive system or Libby at let's head back to our main page again and do our last adventure today curbside pickup if you click on the curbside pickup and follow the rules it tells you that you need to find the material then you can find yourself finding a way for pick up weather is it email or phone call and there is different libraries that you can attend say you're in Evesham for a soccer game you can pick up the material there then you go to the library when see your curbside pickup you'll give them your last four digits of your card which is and your PIN number and they will give you your material right to your car much like chicks Delran how they had that curbside pickup so let's see what to do here you click on the library catalog this is for the hard copies or soft copies that you're dying to read at home what type of the book I want to type in the author this time and it pulls up as Towers falling to Towers falling is one of the book vets in 6th 7th and 8th grade levels you can see that it is a hard copy you see it over in the left-hand side so if you were to click a one-click request you would then be on the list to pick if you change your mind and you want to request it that's because three of the three books are used are not of our vow or none are available one of those ideas you would click request it and that's when they'll call you one of your numbers so that is how this library system works there's plenty of other things that you can find here and I think you would really enjoy the website over the summer sample there are plenty of activity satcom agreed woke is a reading challenge that you can use to discover diverse books and log your activities and I think there's a little bit of prizes that come along with it I do know that the next one about the library system you can also ask your librarian for step personalized suggestions I really love The Giver what else can I read and they can tell you the difference for the younger kids that have the story wall kick-off which is a music music Matt who will be there singing for you and the last thing that I wanted to kind of mention to you going to make my way through is right here layaway Launchpad you can borrow device it's from me library system in Burlington County that will help you with learning tool for the middle and high schoolers this is a new little tablet you get 7 to 14 days to give you those I believe don't quote me but you do get a lot of time to use them and they are skills that are geared towards Middle School to high school kids so I hope you've enjoyed this webinar and I hope you've learned how the curbside pickup search the catalog and apply for a card thank you and have a great day
