Mr. Meile is entering his twenty-second  year at Cinnaminson Township Public Schools and his fourth year as part of the middle school administration team. Coaching soccer, basketball and running intramurals at the high school level has left a lasting impact on his philosophy for the lessons learned on the field/court. Mr. Meile is a resource for the student athletes and parents/guardians in regards to interscholastic sports and competitions. 

The athletic department is excited for the 2025-26 school/sports year. Students are encouraged to get involved and try out for the various sports teams offered during the three separate seasons. The coaches of the sports can be found below. Please contact them directly with specific questions about meetings, practice times and special circumstances. The athletic department strongly feels that learning to commit to a team, increasing the amount of practice time, getting coached by a new individual and playing some different opponents  is an effective way to develop as not only as an athlete, but more importantly as an individual. Though many of our teams may have limited spaces, we are one of the few middle schools in the area that offer two levels for most sports. Finding a role on a team is a skill that will apply to their life and how they can make a living. In addition, intramural sports are always an option if your daughter or son would like to be involved in athletics to develop skills and coordination. 

 

 

Travel Release Form

If you would like to take your player home directly from an away game, this form must be filled out and turned in to the main office the morning of the game.  A separate form must be filled out for each game it is intended for.

FAQs

Please read some of our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below.

  • On the right side of the screen, click on "Registration Details and Help" and complete the sign up process through Genesis.  Video helping with the registration process. 

  • You need to sign up using the Genesis registration and submit a completed sports physical.  If you require the use of an inhaler or epi-pen, additional forms must be turned in to the nurse.

  • Fall Season

    Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Cross Country and Field Hockey (all Grades 6-8).

    Winter Season

    Boys Basketball and Girls Basketball (Grades 7-8) and Wrestling (Grades 6-8)

    Spring Season

    Baseball (Grades 7-8) and Softball, Lacrosse and Track & Field (all Grades 6-8).

    ***If there is an insufficient amount of players that sign up for Basketball or Baseball, those sports will be opened up to 6th graders.

  • By signing up for the intramural club, you are signing up to participate in a mix of recreational sports on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The sport of the day will depend on the weather and student interest. You are not signing up for a specific intramural sport. Just like our other sports teams, a sports physical is required for participation.

Registration details and help

In order to register your child for a sport, please log in to your Genesis Parent portal at:  Genesis Parent Portal

If you have forgotten your Genesis parent portal password, please click the 'Forgot My Password' button and enter the email address you registered for Genesis with. Wait for an automated email to arrive (please check your spam folder if you don't see it in your inbox). If you are still having trouble, please email parentsupport@cinnaminson.com with a description of the issue.

Once logged in, please click on the 'STUDENT DATA' main tab and then the 'Forms' sub-tab. This will bring you to the 'Forms Library' where you will see a list of forms for each of your children.

Please find the name of the first child you would like to register for a sport and then under that child's name, click on the words of the form for the current year and season ( for example:  'CMS:  FALL 2025 SPORTS REGISTRATION - please complete one for each athlete').  This will bring you into the form. Please read carefully and respond to each question on the form. When finished, please follow the instructions at the bottom of the form to finalize the form (you must allow pop-ups on your browser for this site in order to finalize the form). If you have another child you would like to register for a sport, please click into the form under that child's name on the 'Forms Library' page.

Physical Examinations:  All Health Forms must be submitted as a hard copy.  

Students registering for Athletics must have a current physical examination on file in the athletic department's office before the student is authorized to participate in practice/tryouts.  Sports physicals are good for 365 days******.

To ensure clearance for participation, physicals should be completed and turned in by August 1st for Fall, November 12 for Winter and March 9th for Spring.

  • Physicals are valid for 1 year from date of the last exam. Download your Sports Physical Packet.  Return completed physical paperwork to the school which will be viewed and signed off by the district's doctor.

  • If the athlete has a current physical on file in the athletic department's office, you DO NOT need a new physical you will just need to complete the registration.

  • If the athlete has Asthma and uses an inhaler, please download and complete the Asthma Packet.

  • In the case of accident or serious illness, all reasonable efforts will be made to contact the parent/guardian.  If parent/guardian is unavailable the students emergency contact person will be contacted.

*Please note:

  • Final clearance will NOT be granted until both the online registration process and original Physical Form is completed and have been received by the athletic department and our school physician signs off. 

  • If your child has Asthma, you must also turn in a new Asthma Treatment Plan and Self Medication Permission form.  This is required on a yearly basis. Along with this, if your child needs an Epi-Pen, please complete the Self Medication Form and return it to the nurses office.  

  • All athletes, parents and/or guardians must follow the process below to register for sports participation. 

Athletic Eligibility

All students in good academic standing are permitted to participate in athletic programs in our school. Students are ineligible if they have more than 14 unexcused absences. In addition, to be eligible for interscholastic athletics at CMS, a student may not fail more than one full year course (mathematics, language arts, reading, physical education, science, social studies and world language [7/8 only]) in the previous marking period.

 

Students who fail one course will be required to:

 

  1. Stay after school and obtain extra help (either from the teacher or by attending Homework Club) at least 2 times a week.

  2. On days when extra help is sought, students will attend practice at 3:25.

  3. In the event of an away game, students may be permitted to skip after school assistance but should check in with the respective teacher or Homework Club advisor to keep him/her informed.

  4. The period of remediation would stay in place for a period of 4 weeks and may end once the child has established and maintained a passing average for a period of two weeks. However, if the child begins to fail the same courses again, the process begins anew.

  5. If, after a period of 4 weeks, the child is still failing, the ability to attend away competitions is lost (per #3).
