Dedication in Action
For Students:
Dedication means showing commitment, effort, and perseverance—especially when challenges arise. At CMS, students can demonstrate dedication by:
- Putting forth their best effort in class and staying focused on their goals.
- Showing resilience when schoolwork feels tough or overwhelming.
- Being consistent with responsibilities, from homework to teamwork.
- Pushing through obstacles and celebrating growth along the way.
For Parents:
Families can help nurture dedication by:
- Encouraging a “keep trying” mindset when tasks become difficult.
- Praising effort and progress, not just final results.
- Helping children set goals and break them into manageable steps.
- Sharing stories of your own dedication—big or small—to show how perseverance leads to success.
Together, we can inspire our Pirates to stay committed, work hard, and show dedication in all they do!

Congratulations to all of our CMS students who earned a spot on the Honor Roll with all A’s and B’s, and an extra round of applause to those who achieved Principal’s List by earning all A’s for the first marking period! We are so proud of your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Keep it up, Pirates!

Cinnaminson Middle School is proud to announce the launch of a new sports equipment drive in partnership with Leveling the Playing Field, a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving all children the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of athletic participation. Through this initiative, our athletic program aims to collect new and gently used sports equipment to support youth programs in need, helping to remove barriers that prevent kids from getting involved in sports. By joining forces with Leveling the Playing Field, we’re working together to ensure that every child regardless of background has the chance to play, grow, and thrive both on and off the field. ⚠️ Students must check in with the School Nurse
For the safety of all students, any child who comes to school with an injury, surgical procedure, or medical support must check in with the School Nurse and bring a doctor’s note. This includes crutches, a sling, brace, splint, cast, stitches, or any other support. Even supports that may seem minor, like a brace, require documentation. Students should not arrive at school with these supports without the Nurse’s knowledge.
📄 What the doctor’s note must include
- Doctor’s name
- Reason for the restriction
- Duration of support (or date of next follow-up)
- Physician’s contact information
- Whether the student needs a book buddy or elevator pass
Students must give the note directly to the School Nurse upon arrival.
📚 Accommodations during the school day
- Students using crutches may have one book buddy to help carry materials.
- Elevator use is allowed only with a valid pass, issued after the School Nurse receives the doctor’s note.
🏃 PE and sports clearance
Students may not return to sports or PE without a doctor’s note clearing them to do so. For ongoing restrictions or supports, a follow-up note every 30 days helps ensure the student’s safety and that accommodations remain appropriate.

In Remembrance of Maddie Harris |
Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon! For students, this is a highly anticipated event. Choosing their own books empowers students and inspires them to become stronger readers. Also, every book purchased earns rewards for our school. Our Book Fair will take place next week from December 1st - December 5th.
As always, students can purchase books with cash, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and debit cards. Or, checks can be made out to Cinnaminson Middle School. Students can use their phones to pay, but then must return their phones to their lockers immediately. Also, eWallet is available, which is a digital payment account for students. Before the Fair, you can set up an eWallet for cash-free purchases. Please note that any funds remaining in an eWallet account can be used for online purchases or can be carried over to next year. However, eWallet funds are never refunded. The State of New Jersey charges sales tax (7%) on all book fair purchases.
Families can also shop at our school’s Online Book Fair from December 1-14. All orders ship directly to home, and shipping is free for book orders over $35. Your online orders will also benefit our school! Visit our Book Fair home page to learn more, sign up for eWallet, or shop online.
Parent volunteers are also needed at our Book Fair! Any amount of time you can spare is helpful, and volunteering is a wonderful way to help our students. If you are interested in serving as a Book Fair volunteer, please visit the SignUpGenius.
Please email our Media Specialist, Mrs. Tina Sickler at sicklert@cinnaminson.com, if you have any questions about the Book Fair.
Thank you and happy reading!

December Focus: Anxiety Disorder Awareness
Anxiety is the body’s natural response to stress—but when it becomes overwhelming or doesn’t go away, it can impact a child’s health, learning, and daily life. Students may show anxiety through school refusal, crying, physical complaints, avoidance, or constant worry.
Common anxiety disorders in children and teens include:
-
Generalized Anxiety – ongoing worry about school or everyday events
-
Panic Disorder – sudden episodes of intense fear with physical symptoms
-
Phobias – strong fear of specific things (animals, storms, needles, darkness)
-
Social Anxiety – fear of embarrassment or being noticed
-
Separation Anxiety – difficulty being away from parents or home
-
Selective Mutism – able to speak, but unable to in certain settings (often school)
If anxiety begins to interfere with daily life, support and professional help can make a significant difference.
Mindfulness Day – Friday, December 12th
We have selected Friday, December 12th as Mindfulness Day.
